Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to and use of this Stamford criminal-record reference site. Reading a page, submitting a search, or otherwise continuing to browse signifies agreement to the terms below. Anyone who does not agree should stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. This website is privately owned and run. It has no affiliation with any local, state, or federal government body. Neither this site nor any of our advertising partners offer services meant for credit checks, employment screening, insurance underwriting, tenant evaluation, or any other use covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). We exist to help visitors find criminal-record resources in Stamford and Connecticut. We are not a private investigation firm, and we are not a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is an independently operated private reference site with no government affiliation. It neither stores official criminal records nor obtains records, performs official checks, or files documents for a visitor.

Its purpose is to identify the Stamford and Connecticut custodians, including Stamford Police, Superior Court, SPBI, CT DOC, and the Connecticut Sex Offender Registry, and to provide access to optional outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

  • Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
  • Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
  • Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
  • Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
  • Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
  • Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Using information from this site, or from any tool linked here, to harass, stalk, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate against any person is prohibited and may be a crime. This applies with special force to sex offender registry information: Connecticut law restricts how Connecticut Sex Offender Registry data may be used, and misusing registry information against a listed person can carry criminal penalties. Registry data exists for public safety awareness, not for vigilante action, employment blacklisting, or housing discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. We do not generate background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports of any kind. Neither we nor our advertising partners provide services built for screening job applicants, reviewing rental applications, calculating insurance rates, or judging creditworthiness. You agree not to use data from this site or any linked tool to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

If you need a background check for any of those purposes, order an official check through the Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection (DESPP), State Police Bureau of Identification (SPBI) or an FCRA-compliant screening company.

5. No Legal Advice

The site provides no legal advice. General explanations of Stamford records cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, or Connecticut erasure rule applies to an individual matter. Consult a licensed Connecticut attorney for that advice.

6. No Warranties

Everything on this site is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Criminal records change as charges are filed or dismissed and as records are corrected, restricted, or erased. Delays and gaps can occur. Content here is never an official statement from Stamford Police, a Connecticut court, SPBI, or another agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to Stamford Police, Connecticut court portals, state agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Those destinations are beyond our control. Their operators, not this site, are responsible for content, availability, fees, terms, and data practices.

8. Intellectual Property

Stamford Criminal History or its content partners own the site's text, graphics, logos, and code. Written permission is required before copying, distributing, adapting, or creating derivative material.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim liability for damages arising from site use, including reliance on information found here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against claims, demands, or proceedings caused by your site use or breach of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Connecticut law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from use of the site must be brought in a court located in Connecticut.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms at any time. A revision takes effect when the updated text is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may suspend, limit, or end access at any time, with or without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected language will be limited only as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions
